Bette Buna BV operates as a social enterprise, focusing on the production, export, and international trade of coffee, it also provides financial resources to support development. The Foundation is a non-profit entity dedicated to social and economic development. The Foundation has no owners, and, to prevent conflicts of interest, all transactions with the BV are conducted using market-conforming quotes.

Stichting Joni is the legal name under which the foundation is registered. Bette Buna Foundation is the trade name used for all communication and fundraising activities.
